Google Pay India is spotted, allowing some of its users to add their NFC based debit and credit cards on it. These are being added in addition to the current bank account option as a payment method.

The feature is now available for only selected users. I am able to spot this feature on my app. Below is the attached screenshot.

Earlier, Google was set to come up with visa cards to enable secured online payments using debit and credit cards. But, this option did not roll out even after the one year of announcement.

A thread on Reddit suggested that Google Pay is testing this feature, but it is only available to limited users, and the broader rollout is yet to be done.

Also, a report has been seen on the Android Police, that Google Pay India is now testing this feature.

How To Add Debit/Credit Cards As Payment Option On Google Pay India?

You will find the option to add your card under the Payment Methods section in the settings menu. To add the card to the app, users need to enter an OTP that they get from the bank.

On completion of registering, Google Pay will allow you to tap on the card option and pay for touchless payment using the smartphone.

The company has also created a support page where a step by step guide is provided to add the debit and credit cards to Google pay.

However, the cards supported as of now is limited to the visa cards of SBI and Axis bank.
