As on Twitch, YouTube will allow streamers to create clips from their live

Like Twitch, YouTube will make it quick (and easy) to create small clips. A "clipping" function is launched now with a small community of creators.

Twitch-style clips also on YouTube.

Like Twitch, YouTube wants to make it easy for content creators to create small video clips quickly. These can last from 5 to 60 seconds and aim to be quickly shared on social networks.

Indeed, as The Verge points out: "Music videos help chains to grow. A good clip that goes viral can attract a huge influx of new viewers."

On its official support page, YouTube explains, "We are excited to start testing clips feature on YouTube today with a small group of creators. Clip creation is currently available on desktop and Android devices, to begin with, with iOS devices coming soon."

Currently limited to a small panel of users, this clip function should be rolled out gradually.
