The Huawei Matebook X Pro 2021

Huawei introduced the update to its flagship ultrabook with a 13.9-inch slab displaying 3K definition. The MateBook X Pro (2021) peculiarity is still its 3: 2 ratio, making it slightly higher than traditional 16: 9 formats.

This version supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard, which theoretically offers speeds three times faster than Wi-Fi 5, provided, of course, you have a compatible router. Huawei is also introducing a multi-screen collaboration tool as well as a fingerprint reader directly positioned in the power button.

Available from May 10, the MateBook X Pro 2021 will go on sale for 8,999 yuan ($1,387 approx) with a Core-i5 SoC, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. At 9,999 yuan ($1,541 approx), the machine will be powered by a Core-i7 and double the SSD capacity.

In parallel with this refresh, Huawei has introduced three new models.

The Huawei MateBook 14

The MateBook 14 features a 15.9mm thick aluminum chassis with a multi-point touchscreen. This ultrabook has thin edges with a screen ratio of 90%. We find a resolution of 2,160 x 1,440 pixels with a resolution of 185 pixels. In terms of brightness, Huawei announces a peak at 300 nights and a contrast ratio of 1500: 1.

The machine houses an Intel Core-i7 SoC, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage in its fastest configuration. Like the MateBook X Pro, Huawei has integrated its 14-inch multi-screen collaboration tool and fingerprint reader into the power button.

The machine will be marketed from May 24, starting at € 1,099.99 ($ 1314.84 approx) with an Intel i5 SoC, 16 GB of RAM + 512 GB of storage, and € 1,249.99 ($ 1494.14 approx) with a Core i7, 16 GB of RAM + 512 GB of storage.

The Huawei MateBook D 15

The 15-inch model introduces several new features, starting with Wi-Fi 6 support but also battery sharing. Rather than intended for the consumer market, this machine will be marketed from € 850 ($ 1016.03 approx) with a configuration based on a Core i5, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage.

Here, the manufacturer mainly highlights interactivity features with Android smartphones, especially when it comes to file sharing. The MateBook D 15 will be available from April 27.

The Huawei MateBook D 16

The most impressive of the MateBook D 2021 has a 16.1-inch slab and is powered by the 4000 H series of AMD Ryzen chips. Huawei explains that this machine takes on the dimensions of a classic 15.6-inch laptop but that the fineness of the edges allows the slab to offer a 90% screen ratio.

Note, however, that despite this large screen, the proposed definition is simply in Full HD. Too bad. The model ships with an AMD Ryzen 5 with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD of storage. This configuration will be marketed for € 900 ($ 1075.79 approx) from April 27.
